Lotus Flow Vinyasa Yoga (Advanced level)

This class is taught by:

Alessandro Gozzi

Alessandro has been practising Yoga since the mid-nineties. He has completed training with David Life and Sharon Gannon, creators of Jivamukti Vinyasa Yoga, and at Laughing Lotus Yoga School in New York.

Alessandro draws from a background in endurance sports, Aikido, Shiatsu, as well as experience with injury and dis-ease. He was an Aikido teacher for many years.

Alessandro’s classes are physically demanding, mentally stimulating with the intention to affect heart, head and spirit. Emphasizing gracefulness, concentration, safety and laughter, he aims to inspire others to “walk the razor's edge” – the edge being their potential.

Alessandro teaches Jivamukti Yoga, Lotus Flow, Vinyasa Yoga and Hot Power Yoga.

Alessandro is a senior teacher registered with Yoga Alliance UK.

Alessandro is the co founder of YogaVenue and the Spiralling Crow Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training course.

Kristian Strommen

Kristian discovered yoga when his girlfriend convinced him to try a class, and before he knew it found himself doing multiple classes a week. As his love of the practice deepened, the idea of teaching, which started off as a joke, became a serious one, and so in 2015 he completed his 200hr Spiralling Crow Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training at YogaVenue with Alessandro and Caroline.
As a teacher, Kristian strives to make each class rewarding both for body and mind. He believes the qualities we can cultivate on our mats, like compassion, courage, playfulness and mindfulness, are ones we can bring with us off the mat, and this goal guides his teaching. Above all, he aims to make his classes joyful.

Kristian teaches Vinyasa Yoga.

Lotus Flow Vinyasa is a style of Vinyasa Yoga with an emphasis on breathing and healthy alignment in the poses.
Throughout class, each Asana (posture) flows into the next and the transition between Asanas is just as important as the postures themselves. The flowing Asana sequences (Vinyasa Krama) are dynamic and creative as well as ever-changing depending on the focus of each class.
This class allows those with a regular practice* to experience a more intense Vinyasa Yoga. This class introduces more challenging Asanas. Moving at a faster or slower tempo, this class builds stamina and strength while emphasising grace, precise placement and alignment. Our aim is to be able to move into and out of each Asana with balance, a quiet mind and a firm connection to the Earth as well as to actively seek the relationship between breath and movement. By turning up the intensity, we can explore the place where our breath, mind and movement come together.
The focus is not on tying ourselves into Yogic knots but classes are likely to include some more advanced Asanas, especially inversions.

This class requires a regular advanced Yoga practice. If you are new to Vinyasa Yoga, or do not have a regular experienced practice yet it is best to attend one of our other classes.

This class is 105 minutes long.
