Luka Baggio

Luka found Bikram yoga in her second year of studying drama at the Central School of Speech and Drama as a way to deal with the stresses of daily drama school life.

After her first class she realised she was pursuing the wrong career. She managed to incorporate daily Bikram practice into her busy school schedule while maintaining a pub job on the side. Bikram was the only thing that kept her going, so in Spring 2013, soon after graduating, she went to teacher training. Luka has since gone to to complete her Vinyasa Yoga and Hot Power Yoga with Spiralling Crow at YogaVenue in 2015.

Luka loves the calming effect that Bikram Yoga can bring. “I used to have a constant mind chatter that I’d just grown to accept, but after a year of regular practice the mind chatter stopped. I could breathe and enjoy life in the present moment. It has absolutely transformed my life.”

Luka teaches Hot 26, Hot 56 and Hot Power Yoga & Hot HIIT Yoga

Luka Baggio instructs the following:
  • Hot 26
  • Our Hot 26 Yoga class is a series of static Hatha Yoga asanas (postures) and breathing exercises developed by Bikram Choudhury. This set sequence of 26 asanas and 2 breathing exercises are performed in each class. Each posture stretches, strengthens and prepares the body for the next to maximise oxygenation and detoxification; all together they work every part of the body. The beauty of practising the same movements in every class means you are able to see how your body is changing over time. You never get bored and you always learn something new in every class! Hot Yoga is practised in a room heated to around 40°C. The heat warms up the body allowing you to stretch into the asanas safely while at the same time aiding detoxification and increasing the cardiovascular element of the class. This class includes static asanas, which means you do not flow from one to the next (no vinyasas or downward facing dogs).

There are numerous benefits from a regular Hot Yoga practice, including weight loss, improved muscle tone, strength and flexibility, reduced back/knee pain, better concentration and focus and lower stress levels. The class is suitable for all levels from complete beginners to advanced students. Be prepared to sweat and have fun!

Hot 26 classes are 90 minutes long. All ability levels welcome. Classes are held in a heated room (temperature 40 – 41.5 °C). These classes are without music.

  • Hot 56 (Intermediate/Advanced Hot Yoga practice required)
  • Building on the Hot 26 postures, the Hot 56 class integrates an extra 30 Yoga postures (asanas) that work on opening the hips, build upper body and core strength. Expect lunges, lotus, wheel and some arm balances to name a few. You will feel challenged in this class!

This class is a fantastic complement to the regular Hot 26 class and you will find that it quickly transforms your Hot 26 practice. It does not replace your Hot 26 practise (you still need to come to this class to benefit from the Hot 56). The asanas (postures) in this class are mainly static, which means you do not flow from one to the next.

This class is suitable if you have a regular Hot 26 practice (which means you’ve practised the Hot 26 for at least a few months, 2-3 times a week). If this is your first visit to YogaVenue or if you have never practised Yoga in a heated room before, we suggest you start with the Hot 26 class instead. Even if you practise other forms of Yoga regularly, good knowledge of the Hot 26 is required before you attend the Hot 56. If you are unsure whether this is the right class for you please chat to one of our Hot 26 teachers.

Hot 56 classes are 90 minutes long. This class is not suitable for beginners. Classes are held in a heated room (temperature 40 – 41.5 °C). These classes are without music.

  • Hot Power Yoga ( with music)
  • The YogaVenue Hot Power Yoga class perfectly combines flowing vinyasa sequences with more static practices like the Hot 26. The structure of the class is designed to build strength and flexibility with an emphasis on upper body and core strength. Flowing sequences promote grace and stability while longer holds develop strength. The class is held in a heated room, so the heat warms up the body allowing you to stretch into the asanas (postures) safely while at the same time aiding detoxification and increasing the cardiovascular element of the class. All our Hot Power classes are chaturanga free to allow you to work on your alignment and focus on the integrity of flowing from one pose to the other safely. Our Hot Power class sequence changes every few months to ensure that the needs of both body and mind are met. Expect planks, sun salutations, warriors, hip openers and the option to include gentle arm balances. You may leave class feeling physically and mentally cleansed.

This class is great all-round class for all levels. It is great to try if you are used to a Hot 26 practice and want to experiment with different styles in the heat. It's also perfect if you're used to more flowing Vinyasa classes and want to try something with a little heat.

YogaVenue Hot Power classes are 75 minutes long. All ability levels welcome. Classes are held in a heated room (temperature 35-37 °C). Some of these classes are with music and are identified on our schedule.

  • Hot 26 Yoga Conditioning Class
  • The Hot 26 conditioning class is aimed at Yogis that regularly attend the Hot 26 class who want a little something extra to help with opening the spine and the hips. These two parts of the body are connected and are places where we tend to get resistance and tightness. In this class, after the warm up, we will practise exercises and asanas that will focus on opening the hips and the spine. Expect lunges, barre work and gentle backbends. This class can be done on its own or tagged on to a Hot 26 class before or after.
This class is suitable for anyone, but more beneficial if you practise the Hot 26.

This class is either 60mins or 75min (please check the schedule). This class will be warm. This class is not done to music.
