Jill Kennedy Dear

Jill walked into her first hot yoga class in 2010 to help her cross-fit and running training. “I wouldn't say I was hooked from the start!” but she soon noticed the benefits, both mental and physical, and began to love her time in the hot room where there was nothing to think about but the breath.

Jill completed her Teacher Training with Fierce Grace in 2015. She says, “To me, yoga is about being happy. It teaches incredible patience, acceptance and honesty.”

When Jill isn't practising or teaching, you will see her working on reception. She loves talking to the students at YogaVenue and seeing people on their yoga journeys.

  • Hot Power Yoga
  • The YogaVenue Hot Power Yoga class is a structured sequence of asana developed to create a union between more flowing practices (such as Vinyasa Yoga) and more static practices (such as the Hot 26) in a heated environment of 35 – 37 degrees Celsius. The class is designed to build strength and flexibility with emphasis on upper body and core. The heat allows for safe, deep stretching, detoxing and increasing the intensity of the class to generate a more cardiovascular affect. All our Hot Power classes are chatturanga free! Our Hot Power class sequence is dynamic in nature changing with the seasons so ensure the body and the minds needs are met.
     
    The classes are suitable for all levels from complete beginners to advanced students.
     
    All classes are 75 minutes.
     
    Some of our classes are with music and are identified on our schedule.

  • Hot HIIT Yoga (with music)
  • YogaVenue's new Hot HIIT Yoga class combines Yoga and high intensity interval training (HIIT) to create a unique class focusing on developing strength and stamina. Bringing together traditional asanas (poses) from Yoga with gym-style interval training, we will use a mixture of holding and pulsing movements to work on core and upper body strength, increase endurance and stamina, as well as promote flexibility and coordination. Expect lunges, squats and planks! Heat is added to create a cardio level intensity to the class. This class is perfect for everyone regardless of ability or experience. Expect to work hard and have fun — and leave feeling energized!

    If you are a regular gym or CrossFit trainer, then this class is perfect to help create balance and add some flexibility training to the mix. If you practise Yoga and are struggling with developing core strength this is also a great option for you. Different options will be provided to allow you to work at the level that’s right for you.

    Hot HIIT classes are 60 minutes long. All ability levels welcome. Classes are held in a heated room (temperature 34-35 °C). Music is played in these classes.


  • Fierce Grace Hot Power
  • Fierce Grace classes combine strength and flexibility for both body and mind. Based on classical Hatha Yoga, Bikram and Ashtanga Yoga, and sequenced in ways that adhere to ancient Yogic principles as well as the latest cutting-edge research on attaining optimum results in the minimum amount of time, Fierce Grace is a unique series of 6 different classes based on the same core poses and principles, each with a different emphasis, duration and intensity.

    At YogaVenue we offer the Fierce Grace Hot Power class. This class is a user-friendly but challenging general level class. With hip openers, deep twists, upper body strengtheners, bum and ab toners, this fully-rounded workout works 100% of the body. It is a combination of Hatha, Power and Ashtanga Yoga, Interval and Core Training and offers peak fitness, strength, flexibility and relaxation. This class is designed to develop a sense of enjoyment and freedom and to allow one’s breath and energy to fuel the practice. This class is the centre spoke of all the classes and the class they all originate from. Key benefits: upper body, strength, toned bum and abs, grace and fluidity, deep expression of the self.

    Fierce Grace Hot Power classes are 75 minutes long. All ability levels welcome. Classes are held in a heated room (temperature 35-37 °C).

     

  • Hot Power Yoga
  • Our Hot Power class is fun and energetic, combining elements from our Hot Yoga and Vinyasa classes in one.

    The sequence of postures may vary with each class, aiming to build strength and flexibility with particular focus on the legs, upper body and core. Sun Salutations and Downward Facing Dogs are included in this class encouraging a gentle element of flow from one asana to the next.

    The Hot Power class is practiced in a room heated to around 35 degrees. The heat warms up the body allowing you to stretch into the asanas safely and at the same time aiding detoxification.

    The class is suitable for all levels from complete beginners to advanced students. Our Hot Power classes are energetic yet fun and accessible to all.

  • Hot Power Yoga ( with music)
  • The YogaVenue Hot Power Yoga class perfectly combines flowing vinyasa sequences with more static practices like the Hot 26. The structure of the class is designed to build strength and flexibility with an emphasis on upper body and core strength. Flowing sequences promote grace and stability while longer holds develop strength. The class is held in a heated room, so the heat warms up the body allowing you to stretch into the asanas (postures) safely while at the same time aiding detoxification and increasing the cardiovascular element of the class. All our Hot Power classes are chaturanga free to allow you to work on your alignment and focus on the integrity of flowing from one pose to the other safely. Our Hot Power class sequence changes every few months to ensure that the needs of both body and mind are met. Expect planks, sun salutations, warriors, hip openers and the option to include gentle arm balances. You may leave class feeling physically and mentally cleansed.

    This class is great all-round class for all levels. It is great to try if you are used to a Hot 26 practice and want to experiment with different styles in the heat. It's also perfect if you're used to more flowing Vinyasa classes and want to try something with a little heat.
