Lucie Spence

Lucie discovered yoga during her first pregnancy while living in Montreal in 2008. Having enjoyed the immediate relaxation and physical benefits of prenatal yoga, Lucie continued practicing yoga thereafter, dabbling in different yoga styles. However, it wasn't until Lucie attended her first Vinyasa class in 2011 that she became completely hooked. In 2012, Lucie completed a 200 hour Vinyasa yoga teacher training with Erika Blitz and a Yin yoga teacher training with Corina Benner, and has been teaching both Yin and Vinyasa since then.

Having a background in Medicine, Lucie is convinced of the enormous health benefits - both physical and mental - that a consistent yoga practice provides and loves seeing these health benefits manifest over time in her students.

  • Slow Flow to Bed Yoga
  • YogaVenue's Slow Flow to Bed and Slow Down Friday Flow classes are shorter, slower and more gentle Vinyasa Yoga classes which will unwind you, helping you to let go of the stresses of the day. Flowing standing sequences usually end with some twists, gentle backbends and deep forward folds to relax and release you, leaving you ready for a good night’s sleep. This class includes few and sometimes no sun salutations.

    Slow Flow Yoga classes are 60 minutes long. All ability levels welcome. Classes are held at room temperature. Music is played in these classes.

     

  • Yin Yoga
  • Yin Yoga focuses on passive stretches, holding asanas (postures) for 3-5 minutes each to work gently into muscles and connective tissues, and allowing the mind to slow down. Yin Yoga releases stress, elongates muscles that we often ignore, and creates balance to our more vigorous yang practice. This class is designed to increase flexibility and joint mobility. We will stretch from head to toe while finding a bit of focus, patience and release in the mind as well as the body. Yin Yoga is particularly helpful during times of stress and fatigue and is the perfect complement all our other Yoga classes. It's also perfect for you if you run or cycle a lot and suffer from stiffness in your lower back. From stressed students to athletes seeking greater flexibility or beginners who have never put a foot on a yoga mat, this type of Yoga will help you release mind and body. Props are used in this class to help support the body while in postures to aid release and relaxation.

    Yin classes are 75 minutes long. All ability levels welcome. Classes are held at room temperature. Music is played in these classes.
