You're the Hot Yoga girl, right?

The other day someone came into the studio for a Yoga class for the first time and came up to me and said "You are the Hot Yoga girl aren't you?". I guess I am!

I love all Yoga but I do have a particularly love for the hot room. It started back in 2003, practising and have been teaching since 2005 and I still love practising and teaching Hot Yoga as much now as I did when I started. When I started practising, the physical benefits attracted me, I was tight and stiff from years of running and cycling and never stretched enough (maybe this sounds familiar to you?). I had a bad back and none of the competitive sports I was into helped this. Hot Yoga transformed things. My body opened up, my back pain disappeared, my skin glowed, I'm healthier (I'm going to have to touch wood as I write this but Hot Yoga Teachers don't get many colds!) my stress levels decreased and my ability to focus and concentrate increased.  Now, I walk into the hot studio, any hot studio and I feel at home. I don't even notice or feel the heat, I feel at home and a sense of calm comes over me. Nothing can explain it. The feeling at the end of a class - words really can not describe it, I always feel transformed and so grateful for the charge to practise.

When we opened back in 2011, I was the only Hot Yoga teacher here in Oxford and we taught one style of Hot Yoga, the Hot 26, now we have 4 different styles of Hot yoga classes at the studio along with a team of amazing Hot Yoga teachers, trained by us or other leading Hot Yoga teaching schools.

So if you think you can't try Hot Yoga or it is too hard or too hot, this is all completely understandable and I felt the same way when I started, we all do. But there really is a class that is right, be it the Hot 26, Hot Power Flow, Hot Flow or Hot HIIT Flow. Come try one, its cold outside, a perfect time to get into the hot room and experience the benefits!
