YOGA TEACHER MENTORING

Mentoring for yoga teachers

The comment we hear the most often from new yoga teachers is that 'teaching yoga is harder then I thought!'

If you are feeling that you lack the confidence or the knowledge to teach yoga, then our bespoke one on one yoga teacher mentoring programme is the next step for you.

Why embark on a mentoring programme?

There are many reasons why you could be looking for a mentoring programme. Some of the reasons we are approached by trained yoga teachers are because they:

  • Have completed a 200 hour or more teacher training programme but don’t feel confident to start teaching
  • Have completed an online yoga teacher training programme but don’t feel they have the skills and knowledge to teach people in person
  • Feel that their yoga teacher training hasn’t provided them with sufficient skills and knowledge
  • Have taken a break since training and need some help to get back into the swing of things
  • Have suffered burnout and need some motivation, support and encouragement
  • Need help with understanding some of the fundamental elements of yoga asana, sequencing and music in yoga classes
  • Don’t know where or how to start marketing themselves
  • Want to open a yoga studio and need some advice on how to do this

Our Mentoring Programmes

The content of our mentoring programme is dictated by you. We work up an individualised plan that covers your key goals to meet on completion of the programme. Like all our teacher training programmes, we are very practice based – the more you put into it, the more you will get out.

Topics that may be covered include:

  • Asana knowledge
  • Structuring and sequencing classes
  • Teaching style
  • Teaching prep
  • Working with modifications and injuries
  • Teaching scenarios and how best to manage them
  • The business of yoga

We offer a range of programmes, all are one-on-one and tailored to suit your needs.

One to one per hour mentoring

Pay per hour for advice and support and mentoring. This works well if you have a specific topic to cover and need some help with this. You can sign up for between 1 hour and 10 hours. This can be done in person or online. For further information, email training@yogavenue.co.uk.

25 hour mentoring programme

This is our most popular programme. This is a great programme if you are new to teaching, have completed an online yoga teacher training programme or had a bit of a break from teaching and need help with confidence and ensuring you have the right knowledge to get you going as a new teacher. The content of the programme is structured around your specific goals and there is flexibility to fit it in around your time availability. This is a mixture of in person and online mentoring. For further information email training@yogaveune.co.uk.

Available for hot yoga teachers, vinyasa teachers, restorative and yin yoga teachers

Our mentoring programmes are available for teachers with a training in different disciplines, be it the Hot 26 (Bikram yoga), Power yoga, Hot Power yoga, Vinyasa Flow yoga, Yin yoga and Restorative yoga.

"The mentoring program during teacher training and post teacher training is so valuable. It’s only once you really start teaching that you realise your teaching is an ever-evolving process and being mentored by a much more experienced teacher(s) facilitates building capability class-by-class."

Emma

"The direction and support given through mentoring has been brilliant as a new teacher.  It has provided me with the opportunity to reflect on classes, get feedback and takeaway the learnings. The mentoring has given my teaching direction and I continually set goals to build my skill set."

Zoe

"Being mentored has been an invaluable experience. I find the support and guidance to be incredibly effective in building up your confidence as a developing teacher, finding your voice as a yoga teacher and ultimately enhancing the experience of your students"
