Hot 26 is the perfect class for all levels of experience in yoga - from beginner to advanced. Hot 26 is a static (non-flowing) series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, popularised by Bikram Choudhury and based on the teachings of Hathayogi B.C. Ghosh. This class is ideal for building strength and flexibility, developing muscle tone and improving focus. It is also a great class to practise if you are working with injuries or physical limitations, particularly if you are dealing with back and knee pain.

 

There is a beauty and discipline inherent in practising the same sequence every class. Not only are you able to tune into subtle changes in the body on a daily basis and over time but you can train yourself in mindfulness - clearing your mind of intrusive thoughts and reducing anxiety.

 

Hot 26 is practiced in our studio heated to around 40 degrees using an infrared heating system. The external heat expedites your internal warmth, helping you to stretch into asanas safely and access deeper expressions of the postures in a shorter amount of time. This additionally increases the cardiovascular element of the class. A regular Hot 26 practice can help with weight management, building strength, nourishing mental health and enhancing flexibility. Though Hot 26 can be extremely beneficial in the management and healing of injuries and physical challenges, please check with your doctor and with our teachers before your first class.
